Rogério Patrício Chagas do Nascimento was born in Lagarto City, Sergipe State, Brazil. He earned a PhD in Informatics Engineering from Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal, 2004), MSc in Computer Science from UFPE (Brazil, 1999) and BSc in Computing Science from the UFS - Universidade Federal de Sergipe (Brazil, 1997). His previous collaboration was in the Instituto de Robótica at Universitat de València (Spain, 2012 and 2005) as Invited Professor and Researcher; Invited Assistant Professor at Universidade do Algarve (Portugal, 2005-2007); Visiting Professor at UFAM (Brazil, 2010-2013); Coordinator of the PROCC (2014-2016); and UFS Rector´s Special Advisor (2016-2020). Currently, he is Associate Professor, Deputy Head at the UFS Computing Department (Brazil) and Leader of the UFS´ Software Engineering Research Group. He is a Founder member, former Scientific Director and the current EATIS.org President. He lived in Brazil, Portugal and Spain. In 2007, he did the famous medieval pilgrimage to the shrine of Saint James The Great, called Way of St. James, wandering by 800 km from the french Pyrenees to the Cape Finisterre, in the Death Coast, Spain.
